The Policy Exchange – Green Society and Park Land Reports
Think tank organisation, the Policy Exchange, has recently published two documents.
Park Land: How open data can improve our urban green spaces. The report urges the government to establish a freely-available national urban green space map for the UK. They argue that a new online map which will crowd-source information from government, local authorities, NGOs and local communities, would allow the public to easily comment on the state of their local park and other green spaces. Read the Park Land report.
Green Society: Policies to improve the UK’s Green Spaces. The paper suggests a wide range of proposals including council tax rebates for green space volunteers; ecotherapy prescribing by GPs; introducing a park levy; living legacies; and developer endowments. Read the Green Society report.
