Dear Members of the West Midlands Parks Forum,
We have just had our bimonthly executive meeting where we forward plan for the Forum and were reviewing 2015 which we feel has been a good year for the group.
Membership has risen from 32 to 35 and to 36 potentially. Our 6 meetings have ranged over a great variety of topics from Pictorial meadows and Micro injection of trees to the exotic views from Green flag judging in Abu Dhabi, the huge improvement works to Telford Town Park and the smaller scale but still important edible gardens and allotments presentations and of course our first conference (well first for a good many years!) held in April on the topic of Health and Well Being was both enjoyable and inspirational.
Keeping up with changes, ideas and current issues is even more important in these challenging times.
Thank you to all members who have attended meetings during the year and contributed to the presentations and background information and of course for those brilliant feedback reports from your individual authorities.
Thank you also to our service providers, Sally, Ian and Nat who’s work has made the functioning of the forum possible.
As we enter 2016 and our 28th year of the WMPF the executive wish you all a fulfilling and productive year and hope you achieve some if not all of what you would wish to for your own individual parks services.
Don’t forget our next conference Parks and Planning on 22nd September 2016.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
Lynn Stevens (chair)
Liz Stuffins, Chris Worman and Ryan Taylor (Vice Chairs)
