Dudley Green Space Volunteer Awards

In recognition of the invaluable contribution made by 100’s of volunteers to the management of Dudley’s green spaces, the annual award ceremony was held on Friday August 1st during Love Parks Week. This Green Spaces celebration has now been operating in Dudley for 7 years, and demonstrates to senior officers and politicians the massive amount of volunteer work that goes into managing our open spaces.

Friends of Cotwall End Local Nature Reserve won the Incredibles Green Spaces Group of the year, with many more parks friends groups and individuals picking up prizes for events, fund raising, biodiversity, health and IT projects. We also provide certificates for Walk Leaders and awards for enterprising Allotment Associations.

Walsall Borough Council is interested in linking with Dudley MBC and developing a joint scheme, possibly with other Black County and Birmingham Friends Groups and Councils. If you have an awards scheme in your area, or would like to develop one as part of a regional scheme please contact Liz Stuffins at Dudley Council.
